Mobile Friendly Classification Tables

The standard PDF classification tables are perfect for printing out and putting in your bowbag. You could even fold them down the middle and laminate it in an A5 pouch if you’re really keen. However, when you’re out on the field, the wide A4 Landscape format is not ideal for looking at on your phone.

So, I’ve created a tall, slim, portrait variant of the tables that should work nicely on an mobile device. Just click the link below that’s relevant for your category, and then bookmark the link to come back to when you need it.

Hopefully, these mobile versions of the tables will make the tables more accessible, and more fit for the 21st century.

    Hi,
I really like your mobile friendly classification and handicap calculator.
However, I just noticed something today that is common in your calculator, Archery Success App and Golden Records.
The way handicaps are meant to be rounded has changed too.
They are now meant to be rounded down rather than up.
Here is a link to the AGB FAQ site where this is covered:
    https://archerygb.org/resources/outdoor-classifications-and-handicaps/classification-and-handicap-faqs

    Unless I have misunderstood this.

    Thanks,

    Tony.

I think you have misunderstood a little bit. The change of the rounding rules only applies to the calculation of handicaps, and has nothing to do with classifications.

Specifically when updating an archer’s handicap, the previous rule said that you take the average of the old handicap and (if its lower) the handicap of the new score, and average them together. If the result is not a whole number then you round up. That has now changed to rounding down (for various reasons that will probably be the subject of another blog post soon).

Although the classification tables are based on top of the same mathematical foundations of the handicap system, they’re not connected at all to the processes by which an individual archer’s handicap evolves (which is where that rounding happens).

        Thank you.

The FAQ on the AGB site had me confused and I thought that it applied to all handicap adjustments and not just the initial handicap creation or year end adjustments.

        Thanks for clarifying,

        Tony.

Now I’m not sure whether I might have confused you even more…

ALL handicap adjustments, whether initial, in-season or end of season adjustments now use rounding down rather than rounding up if the result is not a whole number.

None of that has anything to do with classifications though.
