The UK archery handicap system provides a method for rating the performance of an archer by quantifying the sizes of arrow groups, and the scores those groups would produce on a particular round.
The handicap equations are not tied to any particular rounds, bowstyles or rule changes. It is a general method of assessing and comparing the performance of an archer and can be used for ranking, comparison, normalisation or for setting performance milestones, such as in the classification system
